Danny Brown talks Xmas jumpers, grills & Ol’ Dirty Bastard with The Needle Drop

A lot of love has been thrown in the direction of Danny Brown‘s fourth studio album Atrocity Exhibition, released on Warp this September. Features from Kelala, Earl Sweatshirt, Black Milk, South African singer Petite Noir and the UK’s very own Paul White have helped piece together an LP dribbling with raw, and often disturbing, emotion.

It certainly stands out with a dark and honest grandeur that was lacking in a lot of hip-hop albums this year, and a brief gloss over the lyrics contained explains why. But who better to dig around its story than expert internet music geek The Needle Drop?

The second instalment of The Needle Drop’s On Track interview series, in association with Skype, locks down Detroit’s very own Danny Brown for a 20 mins video chat to discuss the LP (alongside grills, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, rap-metal and Xmas sweaters, obviously). What’s more, there’s a surprise call from a certain legendary UK garage outfit.
