So this has got to be the funnest session we’ve done so far….Jamie Isaac is a 21 year old born and bred South East Londoner. A classically trained vocalist and pianist, he’s been a big part of defining the area’s contemporary musical sound over the course of his two acclaimed EPs Blue Break and I Will Be Cold Soon. Living, breathing and singing the same SE air that brought him together with fellow musicians Archy Marshall (aka King Krule), Rejjie Snow, Jadasea and Jesse James Solomon, has led to them forming the ‘SE LDN’ crew, but Jamie is also flying in his own right.
It was for this reason we were so excited to invite Jamie Isaac and his band to set up shop up at Jenny’s restaurant in Elephant and Castle, to perform two new songs from his debut album Counch Baby – ‘Find The Words’ and ‘CNT U SEE’. All the locals loved it, even the police stopped by to watch from outside. We only drove off when elderly couple incensed by the bass (sorry whoever you were). Picture his heavily leaning jazz melodies and avant-garde electronica set to the juxtaposing backdrop of fry-ups and strip lighting. Or better yet, have a watch of the dazzling live session above.
