Hertfordshire’s boutique Farr Festival has announced its first lineup of acts for its 2016 edition. Last year we said it was up there with Gottwood, Dekmantel, and other festivals with more lofty reputations and, by the looks of this year’s roster, that is set to continue.
Heading up the bill is a three way back-to-back-to-back from UK DJing royalty Joy Orbison, Midland and Ben UFO, whose session last year at Croatia’s Garden Festival has gone down in folklore. Joining them are some of the most respected DJs around: Jeremy Underground, Gilles Peterson, Move D, Maurice Fulton and Jane Fitz, as well as Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston’s ‘A Love From Outer Space’.
Helping to broaden the programming right to the extremes of the electronic spectrum come Helena Hauff, Max Cooper, Job Jobse, FunkinEven and Paranoid London, while there is also a commitment to fresh talent in the form of Frits Wentink, Francis Inferno Orchestra, Project Pablo, Denis Sulta and Nachtbraker. It’s not all debuts either, with Hunee and Detroit Swindle returning to the woods.
With these names on the bill, it is likely Farr will be seen alongside those other festivals as a must-do this summer.
