There’s not nearly enough good soul being released these days for my liking, however, Fatima is one special exception to that rule. The Stockholm-raised, London-based songstress sits comfortably at home as the soul queen of Eglo Records, thanks to her exquisite debut LP Yellow Memories last year, which gave us the divine tracks like ‘Family‘ and ‘Ridin’ Around‘.
Fatima has since joined forces with The Eglo Live Band and been touring around the world, from Montreaux Jazz Festival to Dimensions. Fortunate for us Londoners, she will be gracing the stage at Islington’s Union Chapel this February. A combination of this unbelievably talented and soulful singer, her live band and a unique ethereal space, promises to make this an unmissable live performance. In support will be Henry Wu’s fledgeling new jazz ensemble, the Yusuf Kamaal Trio.
