This year has been pretty laudable for South London’s MOBO award-winning grime kid Stormy. Alongside Skeppy, all eyes have been on the Thornton Heath MC, who set a new standard for the genre earlier this year with a home-made “fire in the park” freestyle which has managed to rack up 13 million hits and counting. Now in festive spirits, Stormzy is looking to make the viral track a UK Christmas number 1 in place of a looming shoddy X-Factor single. William Hill is currently putting him at 6/1 to nab the top spot, and you can keep up-to-date by searching the hashtag #ShutUpForXMasNo1 and buying the track on iTunes. Since launching the campaign at 7am this morning, the track has already climbed from 27th to 5th in the Spotify streaming charts – maybe Christmas wishes do come true.
