Clearly not resting on laurels from last year’s success, Gottwood march confidently into 2016 with their first lineup announcement.
Before we get started on the artists themselves, it’s worth praising the diversity of what’s on offer. European titans Tama Sumo, Prosumer, Nick Hoppner and Move D sit comfortably amongst a contingent of heavy hitters from the UK like Daniel Avery, Shackleton, Joy Orbison and Optimo. Last year’s inspired pairing of Ben UFO with Craig Richards is repeated, and there’s more mouthwatering b2bs from Roman Flugel and Andrew Weatherall, Kowton and Hodge.
Others causing much excitement are Axel Boman, Awesome Tapes From Africa, Mr G, the Money $ex Records crew, Psychemagik, Peak & Swift, Beautiful Swimmers and Job Jose, while there’s plenty of emerging talent to stumble across too, including Frits Wentink, Henry Wu, FYI Chris and Paramida.
But that’s not all Gottwood is about, and as much as the dancefloor beckons, we’re equally looking forward to laying on the lawn, sitting by the lake or exploring the intricacies of the forests, in one of the most blissful surrounds we’ve had the pleasure of experiencing. Keeping us going through such daytime activities will be recent STW favourites Khruangbin, Bastien Keb and the 22a family (Al Dobson Jr, Jeen Bassa, Tenderlonious and Reginald Omas Mamode IV) to name but a few.
