Although he occasionally pops his head up during UK summer festival season, we don’t get treated enough to the live sounds of London-Ghanaian crooner Andrew Ashong. Bringing a fresh blend of hazy soul to our ears, his 2013 ‘Flowers’ collab with Detroit’s creative mastermind Theo Parrish remains one of the best tracks this side of the decade, winning ‘Track of the Year’ at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards and populating most summer playlists every year.
Catch Ashong this month (Oct 22nd) transmitting his sweet, deep grooves alongside his live band at London’s popular arts space Rich Mix.
This month Soundcrash are offering up a rare chance to catch Andrew Ashong live in East London’s finest independent arts venue. Housed in a former leather factory, Ashong will take the stage with his live band to perform certified classics from his catalogue, hopefully alongside some new sounds that he’s been working on recently.
