With Record Store Day just around the corner, this map has surfaced showing over a hundred record stores that have been situated in Soho between 1946 and 1996. Roughly bounded by Oxford Street, Shaftesbury Avenue and Charing Cross Road, the area played host to outlets for everything from reggae to rock, and hip hop to house. The highest concentration of them was around Berwick Street, right in the centre of the map, which adds poignancy to the RSD celebrations held there every year.
Head on down to Soho on Saturday to catch some rare wax, or just to have a boogie in the street on a sunny day. Fingers crossed the forecast is right!
