It’s not very often on here that you’ll find us shouting about ‘pop’ music, so when we do, it’s usually something extra special. As is the case of Izzy Bizu’s new track ‘Diamonds’, which has the 19-year-old half Ethiopian south Londoner twisting wild melody lines around a vintage soul sound.
Bizu’s penchant for writing strong melodies is unwavering at the minute, and her new home at Sony seems to have helped transition her from cutesy bedroom pop singer (see ‘White Tiger‘) to what is a much more refined sound.
We look forward to hearing the debut album.
