Benji B is playing 13 back-to-back weeks with a slew of all-star guests in his Deviation residency at XOYO. Deviation sees the likes of Todd Edwards, Skepta, Sampha, Lil Silva, Zomby, Mark Ronson and Gilles Peterson play sets in XOYO basement for the second quarter of the year.
Perhaps the most heavily anticipated show of the residency is next Saturday’s installment featuring Floating Points and Four Tet, playing together in London for the first time since the emotional closure of legendary basement club, Plastic People. This ‘Last Dance’ set featured a beautiful mixture of afrobeat, nineties house, hip hop and myriad other genres you never knew existed. Abdul Forsyth, the founder and owner of Plastic People will join Tet, Benji and Points on the decks in the basement, along with Floating Points’ special rotary mixer of course.
With both Four Tet and Floating Points being known for their deep digging of crates, it’ll be hard to tell what to expect musically but it will undoubtedly be one of April’s biggest dates in the clubbing calendar. Tickets sold out online in a matter of hours, so if you didn’t buy one online, make sure you get down there early on the night to guarantee getting one on the door.
