Despite being only four years young, Dimensions Festival has already confirmed itself as a legendary event. The opening concert, only entering its second year now, has quite possibly become the most famed part of the festival. Taking place in an old Roman amphitheatre on the Adriatic Coast, the event has already seen Nils Frahm creating waves with his one man live show, using a grand piano and more synthesisers than you could shake a stick at. Alongside him were Caribou and Nicolas Jaar, as part of Darkside.
This year, the concert, which takes place on 26th August, plays host to a live set from Four Tet, whose acclaimed debut album as Percussions came out at the beginning of the year. Also on the stage, Dimensions welcomes a live performance by Little Dragon and an all-new live show by neuroscientist by day, multi-talented producer by night, Floating Points, who will be taking to the stage with a band of electronic and classical instrumental performers.
The three billed acts are already enough for us, but the setting is sure to make this a truly magical evening. Last year’s action was captured as a live stream – and, for posterity – by Boiler Room. This year, they return to ensure that the show will remain with us for years to come. The concert marks the first night of the festival and with so many big names confirmed, this year is shaping up to be their best yet.
