The Red Bull Music Academy is a prestigious environment for the honing of musical talent, held each year in a different city. 60 participants take part in the school which features promising artists in a range of musical genres, disciplines and nationalities, with previous famous alumni including Nina Kraviz, Flying Lotus, Aloe Blacc and Hudson Mowhawke. At the Academy, a series of lectures and workshops from some of the most respected names in the industry takes place, with a focus on collaboration between all the artists, up-and-coming and established.

To celebrate the opening of applications to Paris 2015, some taster sessions have been organised in four cities in the UK. Titled the ‘Road To Paris’ lectures, they will all feature a conversation with 2014 graduate Mumdance, while the second part will involve a lecture from four of the biggest names in French dance music.

The first of those talks is today in Leeds with a lecture from vinyl-junkie DJ Deep, with the Liverpool leg taking place tomorrow featuring one of the biggest luminaries in French electronic music and disco, Francois K. Ivan Smagghe will be talking to Bristol on Thursday 5th at The Christmas Steps, while Gilb’r, label boss of Versatile Records and one half of Chateau Flight with I:Cube, will be giving his views to the London audience on Friday night, at Red Bull’s HQ on Tooley Street.
