It’s just been revealed that on the 19th January, Salsoul will release a new compilation of classics played by Larry Levan during his infamous decade-long residency at Paradise Garage in New York, entitled Larry Levan’s Paradise Garage: The Legend Of Dance Music Volume 2. This compilation, curated by Nite Grooves boss Hisa Ishioka, will have any disco lover weak at the knees. It opens with one of the most heavily sampled disco tracks of all time, and also features Loleatta Holloway’s ‘Catch Me on the Rebound‘. With an eleven-year hiatus between the first and second volume, it may be an indicator of people’s enduring love of disco as a unifier of underground genre obsessives.
