Dixon has topped the RA poll again this year, with Innervisions team-mate Âme in third on the podium. Tale Of Us retained their no. 2 spot, leading to a podium characterised by the more epic side of house music. Seth Troxler moved up one place to 4th, showing that although people may think he’s just a barrel of laughs, he’s serious about his music. In a huge year for Ben UFO, he’s moved higher up the top 10, and is joined by Mano Le Tough, who was in 19th place last year. A debut at no. 16 for Apollonia is a clear indication that the trio’s sound is resonating in the mind’s of partiers.

But in a world where self-promotion and marketing come as part of the game, is the top 100 list as relevant as it used to be? Or does it increase the gap between the new and established and help the DJs featured to command ever higher fees?
