The name of this club night originates from ancient Greek. ‘Hydra’ means ‘beast with many heads’, and it really is a beast with many heads. Collaborating with some of the most reputable labels in the UK, The Hydra prides itself on an eclectic approach to electronic music.
The founders are not short on industry experience. Ajay Jayaram, was Head of Programming at London club The End for a decade, while Dolan Bergin is the man behind the infamous event and record label Electric Minds. Electric Minds have put on fantastic shows across the world, in places including Berlin’s Panorama Bar and Croatia’s Dimensions Festival.
Ninja Tune is the latest label (or head) to take over The Hydra. The talented instrumentalist Bonobo was recently unveiled as the headliner. We also have the lo-fi sounds of Illum Sphere and dub of The Bug, along with his sidekick Flowdan. With footwork whizz Machinedrum and Actress are also on the bill, this night is sure to be a special one for Studio Spaces and The Hydra 2014 series.
The Ninja Tune takeover will be taking place on the 6th December. Click here to buy tickets. More acts are yet to be announced, so be sure to check up on the FB event for updates.
