Field Day – the weekend festival held in London’s Victoria Park – has been going from strength to strength, leaning more towards an electronic lineup with each year that passes. Yesterday they announced the first wave of the lineup for their 2015 event, held on the 6th and 7th June. A techno-tinged Saturday sees b2b sets from Berghain selectors Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann, and from Daniel Avery and Andrew Weatherall. We can also expect a selection from Nina Kraviz, a live set from Ten Walls and a performance by Ethiopian instrumentalist Hailu Mergia, with Caribou set to headline.
Sunday sees a more band-centric choice, with a complete performance of the seminal album Horses by Patti Smith and her band, to celebrate forty years since its release. DIIV, Ducktails and Outfit are all set to play, with Ride headlining the bill. This is just the first wave of artists to be announced. We can only imagine what’s to come between now and June.
