7evenThirty – The Problem (Official Video)

Mississippi-native turned Dallas denizen 7evenThirty has been carrying the more conscious side of American Hip Hop as of late. Dropping back in July, his sophomore album The Problem has seen critical acclaim, with the venerated New York MC Sean Price delivering a menacing feature on Hook Heavy which we covered a few months back.

Now the title track off the LP has been given some slick visuals to accompany his slick rhymes. Dabbling in some vocals reminiscent of Curtis Mayfield and The Isley Brothers, 7evenThirty holds no punches in this exposé of police brutality, gentrification and mainstream media’s coverage of Hip-Hop.

You can listen to and purchase the whole album over on Bandcamp right now.
