Assembled via the wondrous digital platforms of email and DropBox, Yumi Zouma’s self-titled debut EP is a feat in itself even before you’ve sat down and listened to their viscerally calm and cloudy music. The New Zealand ex-pats are now in far-flung corners of the globe (Paris, New York and Christchurch), but that hasn’t stopped them from coming together to create something really special. Sitting somewhere between the flickering swing of Jungle and warm hush of Broken Social Scene, the EP is out now on the New York/London label CASCINE.
