Back in November we brought you Skittles’s massive single Dot2Dot and it later went on to make our top 50 tracks of 2011. His debut album is released today bringing together tracks from the last few years, which explore a wide musical spectrum. Dub (Tip-i-cal-ly), UK Hip-Hop (Bluse), Arctic Monkeys (Boys In Blue), Everything is Borrowed-era Mike Skinner (Watchin’ You) and Acoustic (Peggy Mitchell) are all represented, making for an accomplished and varied album, all pulled together by Skittles’s top quality writing and delivery. Aside from Dot2Dot, our favourite tracks are Boys In Blue (sampling Arctic Monkey’s Riot Van) and the politically-scathing title track. Listen to both below, as well as the album preview as a taster, then head over to Estate Recordings to cop in high quality.
