If you’re a fan of The O.C., House, Prison Break, Ugly Better, Grey’s Anatomy, Scrubs or Dawson’s Creek, the chances are you’ve heard Alexi Murdoch. A host of songs from his debut LP Time Without Consequences were featured on all these shows, making it one of the most licensed albums of the decade. It’s no surprise really; the London-born singer-songwriter has one of those soothing voices that drifts into the background of any emotional montage, but can still hold weight on its own. Some Day Soon, taken from his lastest LP Towards The Sun, is a case in point. With lyrics speaking of a close affection for his father, an uplifting country rhythm and comforting hums, there is a very warm feeling about this track. This may just be a worthy successor to the JCB Song as an ode to that special man in your life.
