Major League Baseball launch LDN series with Peanut Butter Wolf & Mister Saturday Night

In June 2019, Major League Baseball comes to London for the first time with the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees playing a two game series at the London Stadium. As part of a 12-month build-up, MLB have launched a free Sunday quarterly event at Mick’s Garage in East London.

The 108 Sessions gets its name from the 108 stitches in a regulation baseball and celebrates the music culture of American cities and its relationship to London across a day and night programme. New York meets Los Angeles for the first on 22nd July, represented by Mister Saturday Night and Stones Throw boss Peanut Butter Wolf.

Keeping the London link strong, the series will be resided over by Ruby Savage, the Brownswood, Wildheart, In Flames and NTS affiliate who we met earlier this year for our DJ Directory series. Alongside an independent record store selling releases from both cities, she’ll host talks with her guests then join them behind the booth in the evening.

Partners for the series include: Huck and Little White Lies, who will curate The 108 zine, profiling  the focus cities and their cultural heritage; NVS, the team behind Dimensions who are overseeing the events; and Stamp The Wax, who will be exploring the link between London and American cities in an online series.

Attendance is free and guaranteed on a first come first served basis through registration on Resident Advisor. More info on Facebook.
