Yamaha launch ‘WAY UP’, a video series showcasing emerging artists and their creative processes

Yamaha have announced the launch of WAY UP, a video series that showcases emerging artists and their creative processes.

London-based singer-songwriter JNR Williams is the first artist to feature, which sees him create an exclusive track and discuss his background and inspirations as an artist. For both JNR and Yamaha, music is a way of connecting with others and also a powerful way of emoting, something that translates through this first instalment that focuses on the singer’s relationship with his “ride or die” instrument, the Piano.

Commenting on the WAY UP series, JNR said: “I remember when I first started writing A Prayer, it was on a little Yamaha keyboard that I bought from Argos when I was in college. Going back to the stripped back version takes me to that time, I love the rawness and the simplicity of the song in that form. Thank you to Yamaha’s WAY UP series for bringing me back and reminding me of the writing stages of the track.”
