It’s hard to pin down the man that is Mr Jan Schulte, dishing out varying flavours under a number of aliases; Bufiman, Wolf Müller and Jan Schulte (his birth name). As he continually flits between his different guises, Schulte has found himself on the plates of notable imprints such as Dekmantel, Aiwo Recs and Young Marco’s Safe Trip. With a clear ear for adventure, it was Wolf Müller who was granted the opportunity to join the Nile Project in Aswan, Egypt back in 2016. Collaborating with musicians from around the Nile basin across an intensive two week period, Müller delivers the fruits of his travels via Parisian body, Nouvelle Ambiance.
Embracing the musically and culturally collaborative nature of Müller’s ‘Wolf Müller Meets The Nile Project’ EP, ‘Moso Radido Wuod Ndege’ arrives with the warmth and enchanting vibrations of the Nile, oozing from it’s parameters. Amid nimble, rolling rhythms and expertly woven wooden stabs, the Nyatiti harp becomes the centrepiece to a mesmeric melody. As the vocals of Rapasa Nyatrapasa Otieno enter, expect to be wilfully swept away by the joyous and beguiling harmony of this Egyptian musical experience.
Wolf Müller Meets The Nile Project will be released on 5th April via Nouvelle Ambiance. Find out more info about the launch party at Paloma Bar on 3rd April.
