With much of his output focussed on the multitude of jazz and krautrock bands under his leadership, the Max Graef of hip-hop-meets-oddball-house is a rather rare commodity.
In his first solo production of 2018, Max has remixed one of London’s brightest talents. The title track on Oscar Jerome‘s latest EP, ‘Where Are Your Branches?’ is also the only instrumental on a release where Oscar’s flair for singing and songwriting is undeniable. Max twists the original into a dub-infused, percussive workout, layered with tape textures and only the faintest hints of the original instrumentation.
Where Are Your Branches EP is out now – buy from iTunes.
