Vels Trio play Late Night at Ronnie Scott’s

Next week some of London’s finest young musicians will be providing sonic sanctuary for the city centre’s night owls in a late night set at the prestigious Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club. Vels Trio made up of Cameron Dawson (Bass), Dougal Taylor (Drums) and Jack Stephenson-Oliver (Keys), masterfully create compositions spanning experimental jazz, hip hop and groove, and have deservedly risen in profile over the last year or so. Previously known amongst their closer networks for their energetically precise and contagious performances, their infectiously layered sound is now becoming known to the wider world, especially with the release of their debut Yellow Ochre EP on Total Refreshment Records. In a time rich with young musicians particularly in jazz, Vels are right up there flying the flag, yet carving out their own path of sonic goodness.

Vels Trio play Ronnie Scott’s Thursday 28th September, for tickets head to the Ronnie Scott’s website.
