Premiere: Duckett – Ghosts of African Women (Video Premiere)

The enigmatic label, Wisdom Teeth, run by the talented UK producers K-Lone and facta, have teamed up with Freerotation resident, Duckett for the first full EP of the label. ‘Gannets For Guano’ offers a startling variation of sounds and feels from one side to the next. With the A side being an exploration of fast paced and disjointed absorbing melodies, which could even be at home as a Hessle Audio release. Whilst the B side drifts into a far dreamier, spaced out interpretation of the kind of chaotic melodies Wisdom Teeth love best. Kind of how Gaussian Curve might sound if they were in a bit more of a rush.

Our premiere is taken from the B side, Ghosts of African Women is a fine piece of ambience, soft hazy bursts of sound like heavy raindrops on a hot day.  To accompany the track, K-Lone himself (Josiah Gladwell), created this stunning visual piece based on a 1938 animation by Oskar Fischinger, which enhances the hypnotic melody with his playful use of colours and shapes. Making for one of the most pleasing sensory experiences, that would sit just as well in the projection room of a modern art museum.
