Berlin-based producer Mculo is back with his third release on his own label, Roots By The Oder, named after the river Oder, flowing through his Grandfather’s hometown of Bunzlau, Poland. The three-track EP Lago Santo was “made for the road, inspired by a drive through the mountains and valleys of northern Italy in the summer of 2016”. It’s a soundtrack for “highways, torn maps, sunrises, glacial lakes, and the wind”. ‘Bra Hugh’ is our favourite, thanks to its dusty piano riff and a melody that winds through the hills and whisks you along in the most pleasant and sun-drenched manner.
Lago Santo is out 6th December – pre-order from Juno. Artwork by Alexander James.
