The Chicago god is joined by new additions Kamasi Washington, Octave One, Ron Trent, Sex Tags Mania, Midland & more.
We’re not sure how they do it, but each year the Dimensions team continuously manage to build upon the last and with birthday celebrations due, this year is safely set to be the best yet. It’s one thing to announce Brainfeeder‘s saxophonist-composer Kamasi Washington as well as Detroit techno king Moodymann, lining up alongside Massive Attack for the opening concert in Pula’s 2000 year-old amphitheatre. But the real cherry comes with the scoop of the iconic Larry Heard, who will perform live as Mr Fingers for the first time in over 20 years.
It’s shaping up to be a special week on the Adriatic, which will also welcome technocrats Octave One and techno pusher Ritchie Hawtin; Norwegian eluders DJ Fett Burger and DJ Sottofett also bring their fine selections for the warm sea breeze sunsets. Hyperdub and Warp affiliates Darkstar will bring their percussive energy as will the Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Orchestra yet with a little more colour for the eyes and ears. Grooves and more more grooves come by the way of Dan Shake and Mount Liberation Unlimited and homegrown talent Ilija Rudman, Seiji Tapes and Miss Sunshine join in to show of their selection skills.
