Zambon may have shut the door on The Very Polish Cut-Outs but you know the saying, when one shuts, another opens and Transatlantyk is here to pull out the splinters and fill that musical void. Staying true to his ethos of bringing home grown Polish house cuts from unsung producers straight to the ears of you worthy lot, label head Zambon welcomes another member to the family – Marek Stuczynski aka Eltron John aka Eltron.
One the music maestros involved with Polish label S1 Warsaw, Eltron dipped his toe in Transatlantyk waters last Summer with ‘KCK’ on Zambon’s Polo House Compilation, though The Light will mark his first EP on the label. The entire EP is worth acquainting your ears with, there’s a wonderful contrast in dynamic from track to track – Chicago charged grooves to get you out of your seat before you begin a journey into dubby depths.
Our selection is B-Side ‘The Light (Rejoice)’ – get ready for it to breathe magic into the room. A thudding kick shaded by jingling percussion is fused with reflecting synths and tender echoing vocal samples, beaming the track to far off places. With numerous elements, the production could have become fussy and hackneyed, but thanks to his eye for detail Eltron’s managed to strike just the right balance.
The Light EP is out on 28 Feb, snap up the pre-order from Juno.
