A few months ago you might remember us posting a new Brighton Electronic/Soul outfit called Anushka. Well, hailing from the same city and specialising in a pretty similar sound, we bring you DrDr. They describe their sound as falling somewhere in between Future Garage, Post-Dubstep, Electronica and UKG, and with Donna Curson’s voice (remarkably like Anushka’s Victoria Woods) we’d also chuck a bit of Future-Soul into the mix as well. They first caught our eye with the infectious bassy hook of their cover of Justin Timberlake’s Cry Me A River, and it turns out they have a few other reinterpretations up their sleeve as well. As it happens, their second EP, No Compromise, is released today so we thought it a good a time as any to tell you about these guys. Listen below to our favourite DrDr tracks (both remixes are free downloads), and you can buy No Compromise (which Addicted features on) from DrDr’s Bandcamp for just £1.
