Since we last wrote about Marika Hackman (back in December 2011) the rising folk star has accomplished a huge amount; becoming the face of Burberry’s sunglasses campaign and receiving a welcome embrace from well established folklords Johnny Flynn and Adam Beach from the Sussex Wit, who have now produced her double A-Side single You Come Down and Mountain Spines (released September 3rd through Transgressive imprint paradYse). The combination of her delicate countryside charm, vibrant use of natural imagery and odic darkness has already caught the ears of many, and with this harking back to the sounds of Nick Drake and the like, we look forward to what the future might hold for Miss Hackman.
