Monday Morning Mixtape 292

Slide through 1969 psychedelic Stuttgart jazz-rock, 2019 jazz-inflected Zurich beats and Latin-indebted comtemporary Northern Soul.

This week is curated by Berlin-based DJ and production ensemble, Jazzanova, who also run the Sonar Kollektiv and Notes on a Journey labels. In their own words: “we wanted to show our influences and favourite styles – Hip Hop, Brazil, Soul, Boogie, Afro – and combine them in a mix which would make us happy on Monday mornings. We had to start off with Wolfgang Dauner’s ‘Take off your clothes and feel the setting sun’ as it is a classic here in our camp, has a connection to mornings and we wanted to honour Mr. Dauner who just passed away.”

Sonar Kolleckiv celebrated 21 years last month with the 29-track Feel compilation, featuring highlights from the last two decades and some new exclusives.
