Skip through a 1992 G-Funk instrumental, 1998 Detroit street soul and Atlanta phoneline pillowtalk.

Welcome to a new Monday Morning Mixtape, helping you start your week on the right note. This week is curated by Extra Soul Perception, a new multi-national collaboration created by Aaron L and Andy Lemay that explores new tangents in soul music. In their own words: “this mix reaches for some of our favourite slower-tempo soulful cuts that informed the creation of ESP. It was unprepared and recorded in one take (spot the live imperfections!), trying to replicate the improvisational spirit that ran through the writing camp we recently completed in Nairobi. ESP. comes to the UK next week – we hope to see you at one of the showcases 🙂 ”

Following a week in Nairobi making an album, Faizal Mostrixx, Hibotep, K15, Karun, Labdi, Lex Amor, Lynda Dawn and Maxwell Owin embark on a UK tour in February: The Jazz Café London (22 Feb), Band on the Wall Manchester (23 Feb) and 24 Kitchen Street Liverpool (24 Feb)
