Having cultivated his craft as a producer and selector for over a decade now, man of few words Molinaro, will by no means be a new name to some. With his monthly NTS show most likely being the main culprit in spreading his name thus far, we’re sure the eminence he’s managed to avoid, will deservedly be received with some promising production in the works. The debut release from the London-based producer comes courtesy of Steven Julien’s Apron Records imprint and we’re delighted to give you the first listen to one of our favourite cuts from the impressive 5-track project.
TY is as smooth as you like. Aquatic-dulled chords driven by hi-hat and fortuitous distorted metallic pangs, set the mood for the gritty groove. As the melodic elements emerge from sub-sea level, Molinario brings a sub bass with an extra helping of low end frequencies. The sort of sub that is only truly felt with the help of a system located in a venue without noise restriction. One of the deeper reaching tracks on the EP, TY is a perfect track for the dancers bedded in for the night, who have found their dance floor homes, yet is certain to draw in the attentive ear.
Apron EP is released 23rd November on vinyl format only. Pre-order your copy from all good record stores now.
