Premiere: Urulu – Cold Ravioli

Only through research around this Premiere was it discovered that Amadeus Records are the reason for us first being introduced to Chaos in the CBD, through their 816 To Nunhead / 78 To Stanley Bay split 12″ over four years ago. The label run by LA-native-now-Berlin dwelling Urulu has also put out records from Youandewan, Huerta and Cassio Kohl but surpisingly never by their captain, until now.

The Armadillo EP is an ode to the coastal bass music of California’s past, four tracks exploring broken beats and Yamaha synths. The highlight for us is ‘Cold Ravioli’, which combines an electro framework and iconic 808 influence with Urulu’s penchant for deep, atmospheric melodies.

The Armadillo EP 27th Oct – buy from Juno and Phonica.
