Watch Paul White go fishing for field recordings on a war-time sea fort

1920 x 818 - DRONE FORTS 2

Known for his production work for Danny Brown and one of the leading lights of South London beatmakers, Paul White sails to a World War II sea fort off the English coast, searching out field recordings for a new mini documentary.

Equipped with a Shure Mv88 MOTIV fitted to his iPhone, Paul’s journey harked back to a youth spent on his grandfather’s fishing boat. On the trip he recorded everything from ocean ambience, creaking iron doors, metal lampshades, discarded machinery and drumsticks tapping on radiators.

The video launches a new series from Bonafide Magazine called Field Trips, which explores the sonic art of field recordings by sending producers to a unique location to search out interesting sounds to sample. Watch the video in full below.
