Those who have experienced the wonder that is Womad Festival, will know that an expansive and inclusive lineup of the highest quality is pretty much a given. Bringing together fans of all ages with artists, unsung and renowned is an art form the festival have perfected over the years; constantly providing new discoveries from alls corner of the globe alongside that act you’d always been meaning to see.
Having already set the stage with the likes of Grammy Award-winning Malian heroine Oumou Sangaré, Cuban powerhouse Daymé Arocena and Italian producer Clap! Clap! with full live band, the festival have now announced the programme for Sound System. The speaker stack from British audio giants Bowers & Wilkins is back for its fourth year to provide the more electronic leaning energy. Synth enthusiast Rival Consoles and new jazz graduates Blue Lab Beats are joined by Portico Quartet for live performances whilst Floating Points flexes his record collection on one of the words finest systems.
More gems to look out for in the programme include Ariwo, Anchorsong, Don Kipper, Goat and Msafiri Zawose and so many more.
