Craig Richards and Gottwood have just announced a new arts and music festival to be held in Norfolk in August 2017. Utilising Houghton Hall and its surrounding grounds, the organisers have promise extended sets and spontaneous back to backs, very much in the spirit of Craig Richard’s home, fabric. Gottwood will no doubt be bringing some of the artistic flair that turned heads in Wales, with the promise of art and sculptures on site in Norfolk, in addition to bespoke soundsystems.

With the recent closure of fabric, much has been made of the ‘fabric sound’ that is often heard at 11am in Room 1, while Ricardo Villalobos or Zip is on the decks, with stripped back obscurities being blended with tripped out disco, classic Chicago house and Detroit techno. This minimal yet playful style of house and techno has been pivotal across Europe for the 24 hour party culture, and it underpins the first release of artists of Houghton Festival’s inaugural event.

Perlon associates Binh, Nicolas Lutz and Sonja Moonear join Ricardo Villalobos, who will also be performing as VILOD with Max Loderbauer. There are also DJ sets from Nicolas Jaar, Ben UFO, Floating Points, Midland, Roman Flugel, Ivan Smagghe, Felix Dikinson, Nightmares on Wax,Trojan Soundsystem, Mr Scruff, Seth Troxler, Adrian Sherwood, Dr Alex Paterson from The Orb, and a rare UK live set from Convextion.
