Day 5: Max Graef – unreleased hardcore or Human Trafficker’s choice vol. 1

Day 5 of our charity Advent Calendar in aid of The Steve Reid Foundation.

Today we are greeted with a host of presents underneath our christmas tree. Berlin beat-junkie Max Graef unwraps a painter’s palette of unreleased hardcore private cuts, stitched together with seasonal precision.

Flexing his master beat muscles, Graef takes us on an 11-minute journey through raucous rhythms, subaqueous pads, live jazz percussion and LA-hazy keys that slip into gritty 80s buzzes and fuzzes, dreamy sun-splashed synths, vinyl hiss, slurpy bass lines, snippets of german voices and psychedelic 8-bit leads. The perfect present to unwrap early this year.

Here’s what MAx had to say about the track: “The return of the Combatant. Hailing from the mountains of Goronia. It’s hot, it is hotter then jesus. Dedicated to Zutroy.” Make of that what you will.

Download ‘unreleased hardcore or Human Trafficker’s choice vol. 1′ from our Bandcamp. It’s pay-what-you-like, with all proceeds going to The Steve Reid Foundation, a charity founded by Gilles Peterson that aims to support musicians in dedication to the visionary jazz drummer.
