A quick glance through Mule Musiq’s discography brings up names synonymous with cerebral, emotive house and techno such as Lord of The Isles and Kuniyuki. Thus, it makes perfect sense for Dial boss Lawrence to release his seventh LP on the Tokyo based label. In true Lawrence style, ‘Nowhere is a Place’ exudes the analogue warmth but also sincere melancholy that underpins his singular style, with a deep aqueous bassline and shuffling hats giving him licence to form his emotions through the delicately arranged synths. A true master at producing refined music that has a real depth and driving power in the club, this track once again proves his aptitude for creating a feeling that is so hard to capture when making machine music. The rest of the album is no different!
