Field Day, one of London’s most popular music festivals, has teased us with its first wave of artists for next year’s bill, with the festival taking place over the weekend of June 11th and 12th. Releasing the first string of artists yesterday, the organisers have certainly whetted music lovers’ appetites for next summer.
On the Saturday, the festival will host to sets from Four Tet and Floating Points, quickly switching between soul and finely crafted electronic music. As one of the wild cards, Field Day have booked Skepta to shut things down with his bassy grime bangers. Techno innovator Roman Flügel and the Dean Blunt, whose vocals resemble vestiges of the late great Gil-Scott Heron, will also play on the first day.
PJ Harvey and Beach House headline a more rock-orientated Sunday. Those who missed Beach House on their recent winter tour date in London will get a chance to see them play their new album Depression Cherry, as well of some of their acclaimed earlier work off albums including Teen Dream and Bloom.
Expect many more artists to be announced as it gets nearer the time. Tickets are available now from Field Day’s website.
