Womad Festival returns this year with an even bigger line up to deliver fomo into the hearts of music aficionados around the country. You would be forgiven for recognising only a few names on the artist bill, but that’s never a bad thing, for Womad is a festival of discovery. Seven stages and two late-night DJ spots, delicious food from around the globe, morning yoga and workshops galore are more than enough to keep you busy over the four days.
The big names include hip hop veterans De La Soul, UK soulstress Laura Mvula, South African royalty Mahotella Queens, and desert dwellers Tinariwen. Top of our not-to-be-missed list are Ibeyi, the French-Cuban twins who are making waves from across the Atlantic, and fluid supergroup Atomic Bomb! The Music of William Onyeabor. The music and the food meet at the Taste the World stage, where you can watch artists cook dishes from their heritage whilst discussing their musical journey.
See you in the Arboretum.
