After touring through Europe throughout May, Harvey Sutherland’s new EP Bermuda is finally released this week on Dutch label MCDE. Having played one of the finest live sets we’d ever seen at Wilder Studios, we can now finally relive more of Harvey’s incredible Juno infused craftsmanship through this incredible new 12”.
The first 20 seconds of the A side alone is enough to set Harvey amongst the very best of dance music’s current list of producers. With streams of little synth riffs coming in and out on both sides, ‘New Paradise’ is more of an elongated groove plateau to ‘Bermuda’’s big builder.
This kind of major talent mixed with his incredible taste in music produces a funky, deeply thought-out and referential groove that is certainly not heard enough at the moment. And his making us choose which side to lay on the plate, is my only criticism of this EP.
Bermuda EP is out now via Rush Hour.
