For many, the mere utterance of the return of Kano to Fabric’s stage is enough to get incredibly excited, but it’s not the only impressive on Friday night’s bill. This Goliath lineup has had us scratching our heads for a while now, over where we’ll be spending the whole night.
Last month, Keysound Recordings (run by Dusk and revered ‘all-things-bass’ blogger Blackdown) released the second compilation series of their label, showcasing some of the most talented yet outspoken names in bass music to date. Add Logos to the roster, whose recently Weightless series (with Mumdance) is pioneering a new take on club music, and you’ve got a Room 3 that is teeming with plates hot off the musical press.
To keep us guessing in Room 2, Fabric favourites Hoya:Hoya have dug deep for the occasion. Reaching out to the Wild West, they have nabbed Bristol’s legendary Bandulu chief, Kahn. Hoya:Hoya will also summon the services of beatmaster Kutmah on the night, whose eye for talent brought us the likes of Seven Davis Jr and Al Dobson Jr. Alongside these stellar picks, lead man Illum Sphere will hopefully provide us with one of his genre-defying mixes. Therefore, Room 2 promises to bring some diverse musical fuel to the fire on the night.
Kano is placed lovingly alongside Elijah & Skilliam’s motley Butterz crew as the icing on the densely filled party cake. Rinse FM grime veteran Spyro and recent Brownswood signing Swindle also play Room 1, joining the others on the red carpet of urban music. It’s time to case your back to those Jack Bauer mixtapes and run over your Ps and Qs in preparation for the big man’s return.
Second release of tickets are still available over on Fabric’s website. Don’t sleep!
