When: 30th August
Where: Village Underground, London
Tickets: £15 / £20
Having seen Ben Klock in a packed Room 1 at Fabric only months ago for four and a half hours, some might think that we might not be all that excited to see him play an even longer extended set at Village Underground this weekend. Well you’d be wrong.
Running as the first ever Klockworks label showcase in the UK, the ever-dependable guys Black Atlantic have cooked up a techno treat; the kind that doesn’t roll around too often for London crowds. The showcase features Ukrainian wonderchild Etapp Kyle, who has released on the label in the past and whose tracks such as Aurora, Ben plays at peak times throughout his sets. Joining them is Dutchman, Jeroen Search, who is playing his own brand of straight up techno, live on the night.
Another integral part are the visuals, which will be provided by Heleen Blanken, who has worked her magic on a fair few of the label’s showcase events in the past year or so. Characterised by angular monochrome depictions of the natural world, her visuals fit perfectly with Klock’s particularly brand of acid-tinged Berlin techno.
Tickets are now in their last tier for this, so don’t leave it til the last minute. Also, Black Atlantic have just secured an 8am licence for this, which is great news for anyone who doesn’t like doing Klock in half measures.
